QC entrepreneurs invited to join IES Summit pitch competition

Business pitch competition going on at upcoming Immigrant Entrepreneurs summit

Looking to pitch your business to fellow entrepreneurs and other business leaders? 

Organizers of an upcoming one-day seminar – aimed at immigrants and entrepreneurs – are inviting Quad Citians to promote their business during a Business Pitch Competition offered through Black Hawk College, Moline. 

The deadline to apply for the pitch event has been extended until Friday, Sept. 1. 

Multicultural Entrepreneurial; Center

The competition is part of a summit and open house being co-hosted by the Immigrant Entrepreneurs Summit and the Multicultural Entrepreneurial Center. The event will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 7, at Vibrant Arena at the Mark in downtown Moline. 

The Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is urging entrepreneurs to apply to participate and vie for a $1,000 top prize. Small, minority-owned businesses will compete in the Business Pitch Competition. 

To qualify for the Business Pitch Competition, applicants must be an immigrant or minority-owned business (51% or more); have less than $20,000 in sales in the past fiscal year or past 12 months and be able to present a pitch in-person and in English during the conference. 

To fill out the Business Pitch application form, visit the event website. Applications are due Friday. 

The 2023 Immigrant Entrepreneurs Summit and Multicultural Open House is open to immigrants, entrepreneurs and minority business owners who want to engage and support entrepreneurship. Registration is $35 and includes lunch.

The event also will include workshops and a luncheon panel discussing “How do I keep my workforce engaged?”
