QC Corporate Games registration begins

Plans have started for the second annual Quad Cities Corporate Games (QCCG).

The games will be June 1 to July 31. Companies can now register to secure a spot in the annual event.

The event is a project of the Iowa Sports Foundation in partnership with Visit Quad Cities, and the recreation departments in Bettendorf, Davenport, Moline and Rock Island.

“Last year’s inaugural (event) was a resounding success,” said Dave Herrell, president and CEO of Visit Quad Cities, in a statement. “The corporate games initiative activates our community, builds corporate camaraderie, creates health and wellness opportunities and promotes teamwork.”

The first QCCG event attracted 21 companies and more than 1,000 participants. The winners from those first games in 2021 were Rock Valley Physical Therapy in division 1, and Quad City Bank & Trust in division 2.

Participating companies are split into divisions based on company size. Points are awarded based on event placing, participation and volunteerism. Entry fees are paid for by the participating companies. Employees do not pay to participate in the QCCG.

Employees will have the chance to take part in 20 different sports and non-competitive events in June and July. All events will be held on weekends and weekday nights. Some of those events include basketball, disc golf, tug of war, spike ball, pickleball and fitness walk.

There will also be online challenges that can be completed at the participants’ worksites.

For more information or to register for the games, visit qccorporategames.org. Registration will take place through March 1 and is limited to 50 companies/organizations.
