Martin Tractor and Prairie State Tractor John Deere dealerships, including locations in the Quad Cities area, are joining the Heritage Tractor family of dealerships, according to a joint news release from the three companies.
Those dealerships’ websites now bear the Heritage Tractor brand name. That parent company began life in 1998 as a small, one-store operation. Before the merger, it had 21 locations in Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas. The Baldwin, Kansas-based Heritage Tractor said it is known as a leading John Deere dealer featuring quality equipment, expert service, and a strong focus on community.
With its newest additions, Heritage Tractor said “we proudly stand as a John Deere dealership with 43 locations across Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Illinois.” To find those locations go here.
“Prairie State Tractor and Martin Tractor have been trusted names in Illinois for generations, and that’s not changing. You’ll still see the same familiar faces, just with a new name on the sign,” the posts say. “Heritage Tractor is built on the same values that made Martin and Prairie State successful, and we’re excited to keep strengthening our relationships with customers, both old and new.”
Martin Tractor, which has served Illinois growers for nearly 100 years, is a full-service John Deere dealership. It has 14 locations across the State of Illinois including in Aledo, Geneseo, Kewanee, Monmouth and Galesburg.
Move makes Martin better
“Our goal has always been to provide the best service around, and this merger allows us to do that even better,” Martin Tractor CEO Jim Haynes said in the announcement. “By bringing our teams together, we can serve our customers in new ways and provide even more opportunities for our employees.”
He added “We’re excited for this next chapter and can’t wait to keep serving you – now as part of the Heritage Tractor family.“
Prairie State Tractor formed through the merger of Holland & Sons and Kelly Sauder Rupiper Equipment in 2021. It has eight locations including in Geneseo and Dixon, Illinois, and has been “deeply rooted in Illinois agriculture for decades.”
Regarding the merger, Prairie State Tractor CEO Chris Rupiper said, “By joining forces, we’re making sure our customers get the top-notch service they deserve, while also creating more pathways for our employees to grow.”
Not only employees will benefit from joining the Heritage Tractor family, that company says.
“As agriculture continues to evolve, we’re committed to staying ahead of the curve and delivering the best solutions to our customers.”
