Russell has announced the addition of Mike Poster, an experienced leader in public accounting, auditing and consulting, as its new chief financial officer.
This strategic move, the company said in a news release, is part of a broader initiative to enhance leadership resources and capacity as it continues its growth trajectory.
“We are excited to welcome Mike Poster to our leadership team,” Caitlin Russell, the company’s president, said in the release. “His experience and strategic mindset will play a key role in driving our company’s growth while enhancing operational efficiency across all aspects of our business. We are confident that Mike’s leadership will help us continue to excel in delivering exceptional results for our clients.”
Mr. Poster brings a wealth of experience from his previous role at St. Ambrose University, where his most current roles included vice president – finance. His first day at Russell was Monday, Nov. 18.
As CFO, he will oversee Russell’s construction accounting, Talent & Development, and Information Technology. His expertise will help strengthen the company’s financial strategy and streamlining internal operations as it scales for the future, the release said.
Founded in 1983, Russell is a regional and national provider of commercial construction and development services headquartered in Davenport.
Ellison’s new role CFO
In addition, Russell announced that Vicky Ellison will transition to a new role of CFO, Real Estate. She will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of Russell’s real estate development activities.
Ms. Ellison has been involved in the company’s financial leadership the past eight years. She will collaborate closely with the real estate team on project proformas, manage lender and equity relationships, guide investor communications, and drive revenue growth strategies.
To his new role, Mr. Poster brings more than 16 years of experience as the CFO at St. Ambrose, a not-for-profit, four-year institution in Davenport. There he has managed administrative and financial operations, including accounting, human resources, security, compliance, and information technology.
The St. Ambrose alumnus earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting, minoring in business administration. He became a Certified Public Accountant in July 1989.

Mr. Poster also will remain deeply involved in the Quad Cities community, where he serves as treasurer and board member of The Putnam Museum, a member of the Finance Council for the Diocese of Davenport, and is an active participant in the Business Advocacy Committee of the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce.
