In a news release, the CGSCF said Mr. Brownell’s continued involvement brings valuable expertise and unwavering commitment to the foundation’s mission. That mission is supporting the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.

The CEO of Brownells, Inc., Grinnell, Iowa, has a history of championing initiatives to  strengthen the connection between the military and private sector.

“Serving on the CGSC Foundation Board is a great honor,” said Mr. Brownell, who also is the family company’s board chair. “Supporting our next generation of military leaders and their families strengthens our country, and it is one small way to give back. I look forward to continuing this important work in my second term.”

The CGSC Foundation supports a wide range of programs. They include student and faculty recognition, alumni engagement, and enhancing academic initiative. For example, the Col. Arthur D. Simons Center for Interagency Cooperation.

With its board of distinguished leaders from diverse sectors, the foundation bridges the gap between military education and the broader public. It also drives innovation and collaboration. Since its founding, it has provided more than $9 million in support that enriches the academic experience. It also fosters strong connections between the military and civilian sectors.

Founded in 1939, Brownells is the world’s leading source for guns, gun parts, accessories, ammunition, gunsmithing tools and survival gear.
