Parties, events set up for BixBRAI weekend

The Quad Cities is getting ready to party on a first-of-its-kind BixBRAI Weekend.

Thousands of visitors will be in the region soon for the 50th anniversary bicycle ride of RAGBRAI and the 49th running of the Quad-Cities Bix 7 road race. 

The last day of RAGBRAI and Bix 7 will be held in downtown Davenport on Saturday, July 29. That weekend was dubbed by planners as BixBRAI weekend and numerous downtown parties and events have been scheduled. (A complete list of those events can be found here.)

  • 12 – 1:15 p.m. Live Music:  John Rensch and Doggin’ Out based out of the Iowa/Illinois Quad Cities, John Resch and Doggin’ Out is a blues quartet led by bassist, singer/songwriter, John Resch. The band plays West Coast Swing and Chicago Electric blues with a mix of both covers and original material;  1:45 – 2:45 p.m. Matt Fuller Band. Matt is a musician from Davenport, and the youngest person ever inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Has opened for Buddy Guy. Band plays Blues, R&B, Latin, R&R; 3-5 p.m. QC Santana Tribute Band. The QC Santana Tribute Band is made up of musicians who started playing the music of Santana back when they were teenagers. Whether it’s the hits or rare deep tracks they cover the whole career of Santana; 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Music/entertainment at the RAGBRAI dip site; Class of ‘82, Sonora Sazón de Antaño, CJ Parker
  • 11 a.m. – Music starts @ Bix Mix 2023, live music outside on 3rd Street; QC Rock Academy, TBA Act, Wicked Liz & The Bellyswirls, Pork Tornadoes; $5 cover after 7 p.m. on Saturday. Show your IHMVCU Card to get in free.
  • All dayBest Dam Bix Party (410 E. 2nd St.) – . Presented by Dam View Inn with outside bars and games, DJs all day, food trucks. Too Hype Crew takes the stage at 8 p.m.; $10 cover after 7 p.m.; free if there before 7 p.m.
  • 1 p.m.-11 p.m. Live music at Bootleg Hill Honey Meadery (321 E. 2nd St.)
  • 5:30 p.m.- 11 p.m. Finish Line Fest at Stardust with live music (218 Iowa St.)
  • 6:30 p.m. Quad Cities River Bandits vs. Lansing Lugnuts at Modern Woodmen Park
