Palmer College of Chiropractic has received the Silver Circle of Excellence Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for its “Daring and Driven: The Campaign for Palmer College.”

The CASE awards celebrate outstanding achievements in educational advancements and the Davenport-based college received one of the 2024 prestigious honors for its largest ever multi-year campaign.

“It’s an incredibly meaningful honor,” Barbara Melbourne, J.D., Palmer’s vice chancellor for institutional advancement, said in a news release. “The award speaks to the countless hours of committed work carried out by Palmer staff and the boundless generosity of our alumni and friends.”

Daring and Driven: The Campaign for Palmer College was “an unmitigated success, shattering records and energizing the College’s more than 31,000 alumni,” the release said. The multi-year campaign concluded with $30.2 million raised and nearly 1,200 new donors reached.  That shattered Palmer’s initial goal of raising $25 million. Palmer leaders celebrated the milestone and thanked its generous donors at a Sept. 15 celebration at the Figge Art Museum in downtown Davenport.

“What a success story for Palmer College, which, before the campaign, had .8% alumni participation, a deficient database, and no fundraising staff,” a CASE competition judge said. “How can we not all be reminded of what can be accomplished through a systematic approach, strategic advanced planning, sheer optimism, and unrelenting effort?”

CASE’s Circle of Excellence Awards are the premier recognition program for educational advancement. These peer-selected and adjudicated awards celebrate colleges, universities and schools worldwide who’s talented staff have advanced their institutions with resourcefulness and ingenuity, the release said.

The Palmer award entry for “Daring and Driven” called it “the first and largest campaign undertaken by any chiropractic college in the world. We shattered records and energized our 31,000 alumni against seemingly insurmountable odds.”

This year’s awards were a competition as volunteer judges from CASE’s membership reviewed more than 4,200 entries from 28 countries. They selected 486 exemplary entries for bronze, silver, gold and grand gold recognition across multiple categories.

Winners were chosen for overall quality, innovation, use of resources, and the impact on the institution or its communities, such as alumni, parents, students, faculty and staff.

CASE is the global nonprofit association dedicated to educational advancement – alumni relations, communications, development, marketing, and advancement services – and championing education to transform lives and society.

Its membership includes more than 3,000 colleges, universities, and independent elementary and secondary schools in more than 80 countries, making CASE one of the largest nonprofit education associations in the world in terms of institutional membership.
