A new DuTrac Community Credit Union branch office building will be open for business by next July in Moline. Those are the plans of DuTrac officials who hosted a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday morning, Nov. 1, at the site of the new building – 3153 Avenue of the Cities, Moline. The 3,200-square-foot building will have modern features to better serve DuTrac customers, credit union leaders said during Wednesday’s brief ceremony on a cold, cloudy morning.

The event attracted about 50 people from the business community, including Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce members, DuTrac leaders, representatives from Russell and other businesses. Construction on the new building is expected to start soon. It will replace the old DuTrac branch building that was recently torn down – along with two other buildings  – at that Avenue of the Cities site. (That site currently has a fence around it and has several pieces of construction equipment on the land.) “We were having a lot of mechanical issues with the older building, and there was no room to grow. …. The new building is going to give us that room,” Kim Adams, vice president of operations and facilities for DuTrac, told the QCBJ during Wednesday’s ceremony. Some of the new features of the new building will include:

• Two drive-through lanes with canopy.
• Separate drive-up ATM lane.
• LED illumination to conserve energy and reduce electricity costs by more than 35% a year.

DuTrac representatives would not disclose the cost of the new building project. The new credit union is being welcomed by City of Moline leaders. During Wednesday’s ceremony, Moline Mayor Sangeetha Rayapati called the new branch another vital part of Moline’s continued growth. “The word that comes to mind is ‘transformation.’ …. This is another significant transformation on a historic street in the community,” she added. Even though the new credit union building will not be complete and open for several months, DuTrac continues to do business at 3153 Avenue of the Cities. DuTrac’s old branch building at that location closed on Sept. 22, but a temporary credit union building is now on site and open for business on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. “DuTrac is grateful to the membership for our continued expansion in Moline and the greater Quad Cities as we help build upon the area’s growing economic success,” said Andy Hawkinson, president and CEO of DuTrac, in a recent press release about the project. “The expansion underscores DuTrac’s ongoing 75-plus year commitment to supporting economic growth in the local communities we have the privilege to serve.” DuTrac is headquartered in Dubuque, Iowa. The credit union’s charter area includes 21 counties in Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. It has more than 140 employees and 14 branches in the tri-state region. DuTrac Community Credit Union’s other area branch locations include:
