New master plan for Nahant Marsh being unveiled 

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, and Nahant Marsh Education Center, Davenport, will host two public open house events next week to showcase the environmental center’s new master plan. 

The public is invited to see the updated master plan and provide feedback at the open house events planned for 2-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 19. The Corps and Nahant staff will be gathering feedback from the community.

Both events will be at the Nahant Marsh Education Center at 4220 Wapello Ave. A virtual option also will be available during the 5-7 p.m. open house via the online WebEx platform. Users can join the event from a computer or mobile device at this link. An audio-only option also is available by calling 1-844-800-2712 and entering the access code: 199 338 6849. 

The Nahant Marsh Education Center’s new master plan revises a 1998 version providing an outline for potential future improvements, projects and objectives. The public is invited to provide feedback and comments through Wednesday, Nov. 19. Online comments can be submitted at the website.
