Dr. Marianna Beattie says her new dental office – Bettendorf Family Dental – is going to be a mix of old tradition and new technology.
“We try to be that old hometown dentist office that welcomes the family” and does many different dental procedures. At that same time, though, the office features new, state-of-the-art equipment and practices, she said.
Dozens of business leaders and guests got a look at the new Bettendorf Family Dental on Thursday afternoon, May 9, as Dr. Beattie and her staff hosted a Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony. The office now is in a new building at 6786 Friendship Path located in the growing business neighborhood – often called The Plex – near the TBK Bank Sports Complex.
“It’s pretty cool to be here today. … We really appreciate your choice to locate here,” Bettendorf Mayor Bob Gallagher said during the opening ceremony.
More than 50 people crowded into the 2,200-square-foot office for the brief ceremony, and to tour the new dental facility, which opened for patients in early April.
In addition to the tours and ribbon-cutting, the celebration featured icy treats being served by a Kona Ice truck parked next to the clinic’s new offices.
Some of the services offered at Bettendorf Family Dental include: general treatment, root canal services, crown and bridge work, implant services, emergency care and Invisalign teeth-straightening services.
Construction on the new dental office began last July with a groundbreaking ceremony. Dr. Beattie has called it a multi-million dollar project, but did not disclose the financial investment for the office.
Since its soft opening last month, patients have enjoyed the new offices, the care from a well-trained staff that includes fellow dentist Dr. Amanda Sant Amour, and even have enjoyed the views from the examining room windows, Dr. Beattie said.
That view is currently of a grassy, empty lot next to Bettendorf Family Dental, but it will be changing in the near future. A new 288-unit apartment home complex, called the Authentix Bettendorf, soon will begin construction next door, and is scheduled for completion next spring.
And that might be just the beginning of development projects and more businesses in the area. The new commercial building, housing Bettendorf Family Dental, also has two empty building suites currently for rent. Each has about 2,200 square feet of space. Dr. Beattie hopes they are rented and occupied in the near future.
Also, the new office space could be just a temporary home for Bettendorf Family Dental. Dr. Beattie called the new office a “start-up” space as she has plans to eventually build a bigger office building near the current office that will be solely dedicated to her dental practice.
While she doesn’t have a specific timeline, she hopes it will happen within a few years.
“This will happen as it happens,” she added.
Dr. Beattie also has a dental practice at Beattie Family Dental at 1544 W. Kimberly Road, Davenport.
