MUSCATINE, Iowa – MuscaBus riders can now see exactly where their bus is — right from their phone, tablet or computer.
The City of Muscatine has launched a new real-time tracking webpage that shows the live locations of MuscaBus vehicles across all routes.
The new MuscaBus Transit Tracker displays each bus on an interactive map, updates vehicle positions in real time, and allows users to quickly check whether their bus is on the way, running slightly behind, or already passed their stop.
“This is a big step forward for transit in Muscatine,” said Amy Fortenbacher, MuscaBus transit manager, said in a recent city news release. “Riders don’t have to guess anymore — they can see their bus moving on the map and time their trip with confidence.”
MuscaBus riders can access these features via the webpage:
- Real-time bus locations: See where MuscaBus vehicles are on the map as they move along their routes.
- Route visibility: View different routes and buses at a glance to understand how the system is operating.
- Mobile-friendly design: Designed to work smoothly on smartphones, the tool will make it easier to check your bus on the go.
- Improved reliability for riders: Riders can better plan when to leave home, work or school, especially during bad weather or busy times.
“This tool makes MuscaBus more convenient and more predictable,” added City Administrator Matt Mardesen. “It supports our commitment to accessible, rider-focused public transportation for everyone in Muscatine.”

City leaders said the new webpage is part of ongoing efforts to modernize MuscaBus services, improve rider experience, and make public transit a more attractive option for work, school, shopping, and events.
“Public transit is about trust,” Ms. Fortenbacher said. “When riders can see where their bus is, they feel more in control of their day. That’s exactly what this tool is designed to do.”
Follow these steps to use the tracking page: Go to: MuscaBus Transit Tracker here. Select your route or bus and use the map and legend to find your bus. Watch the map update in real time to follow the bus as it moves toward your stop.
Riders are encouraged to bookmark the page on their phones for quick access.
