The Moline Public Art Commission and the Quad City Arts will hold a special ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 13, for the new Bass Street Landing Mural Project, “Catch a Star,” created by Moline artist Jeremiah Ketner.
Mr. Ketner’s murals are featured nationwide, including in Nordstrom stores and throughout the Chicago area. He holds a BFA from Columbus College of Art and Design and an MFA from Southern Illinois University. His work has been exhibited in solo shows in Chicago and New York, as well as in prestigious group exhibitions across the U.S. and internationally.
Quad City Arts facilitated the mural project, overseeing all aspects from the call for submissions to artist support. Dedicated to placemaking, the Rock Island-based organization creates vibrant public spaces that foster community connections and cultural enrichment.
The mural will add a dynamic new element to Bass Street Landing and downtown Moline, inviting everyone to “Catch a Star.” The Moline Public Art Commission and Quad City Arts aim to showcase artists, connect them with the community, and inspire the region through the arts.
