The City of Moline is inviting residents to an open house this Wednesday to provide feedback on the update to its Comprehensive Plan, the long-term blueprint for the city’s growth and development over the next 20 years.
The open house will take place Wednesday, March 4, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Mercado on Fifth, 423 12th Street, Moline. The event is free, family-friendly, and held in an open-house format, allowing attendees to stop by anytime.
The city’s last Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2001. The updated plan will guide decisions on investments and community development, reflecting current priorities and future opportunities.
The event will feature interactive stations focused on key areas, including housing, transportation, parks, and economic development. There will be activities for all ages, and residents will have the opportunity to share their ideas for Moline’s future. Free refreshments will be provided.
As an incentive, the city will give away a $50 gift card to Lemongrass as part of a drawing during the event.
Although not required, the city encourages RSVPs to help with planning for refreshments and communication updates. City officials stress that community involvement is essential, emphasizing, “This is your city, so we need your voice.”
