The Best Practices Agency designation is awarded to participants in the annual Best Practices Study. This year the study analyzed 1,146 independent agencies nominated for the designation, with only 348 scoring high enough to qualify.

The Best Practices Study has been conducted since 1993 by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA or the Big “I”) and Reagan Consulting. That’s an Atlanta-based management consulting firm. Agencies are selected every three years through a rigorous nomination and qualifying process. It requires them to be among the 35-45 top-performing agencies in their respective revenue categories.
Best Practices Agencies maintain their status annually during the three-year cycle by submitting extensive financial and operational data. This marks the first year of the current three-year study cycle.
