Meatball’s Sandwich Co., 2317 Cumberland Drive, Bettendorf, is closing its restaurant business. The catering side of the business will remain open.
The business announced on Meatball’s Facebook page Wednesday morning, Nov. 8, that the restaurant would permanently close on Saturday, Nov. 11.
“It’s with a heavy heart that we must announce that we will be closing down our restaurant operations. … We have tried our best to overcome all of the obstacles that the restaurant industry has faced, but we’re unable to withstand the challenges. We sincerely appreciate all of our customers that have supported us over the last couple of years. What a journey it has been,” according to a post on the company Facebook page.
In the past several days on Facebook, company officials have announced twice that the restaurant would not open because of staffing shortages.
Its menu features a wide variety of hot and cold sandwiches. Some of the sandwiches on the menu include Reubens, turkey pesto, chicken bacon ranch, grown up grilled cheese, Italian beef and many others.
