Make-A-Wish Illinois has appointed Casey Marsh as its new chief executive officer, effective Monday, March 16, the nonprofit announced.

Ms. Marsh will succeed Stephanie Springs, who is retiring after 20 years of leadership. She will lead the organization in its mission to grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses across Illinois, a Make-A-Wish Illinois news release said.

She brings more than 25 years of experience in the nonprofit sector to her new role. Most recently, she served as chief development officer at Feeding America, where she oversaw fundraising efforts that raised more than $300 million annually. She previously held senior roles at UNICEF USA.

“Casey is a values-driven, mission-centered leader with the strategic acumen and heart required to guide Make-A-Wish Illinois into its next chapter,” Tom South, chair of the Make-A-Wish Illinois Board of Directors, said in the release. “We are confident that under Casey’s leadership, Make-A-Wish Illinois will continue to deliver hope and joy to even more children and families across our state.”

Ms. Marsh will oversee the organization’s statewide operations, partnerships and fundraising efforts.

“I am deeply honored to join Make-A-Wish Illinois,” she said. “Wishes are far more than moments of happiness; they are sources of strength and resilience for children and families facing unimaginable challenges.”

The leadership transition comes as the Illinois organization celebrates its 40th anniversary of granting wishes across the state.
