The Living Lands & Waters (LL&W) Barge Party has been set for 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at Beacon Harbor in East Moline.
The party is LL&W’s flagship event It brings together more than 900 attendees, including crew members, sponsors, and supporters, for a night of celebration and fundraising along the picturesque Mississippi River. Guests will be treated to an array of festivities. They include a fish fry and shrimp boil, wine pull, silent auction, barge tours, cash bar, and live music by the group “For Those About to Yacht.”Â
Individual tickets are $50, with limited table reservations for eight at $400. Tickets can be purchased here.
“We’re incredibly excited to welcome everyone back to the Barge Party,” said Chad Pregracke, Living Lands & Waters founder. “This event not only serves as a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Quad Cities riverfront but also plays a crucial role in supporting our ongoing efforts to preserve and enhance our nation’s rivers.”
Parking and continuous shuttles will be provided at John Deere Harvester Works for attendees.
In addition to the festivities, LL&W invites local artists to participate in the 2024 Barge Party Art Auction.
Artists are encouraged to donate environmental-themed artwork. It should be made from natural, repurposed, or recycled materials. The silent auction begins at 5 p.m. All proceeds will contribute to LL&W’s mission. June 5 is the deadline to submit art for this auction.
The goal of this year’s Barge Party is to increase community support for LL&W’s mission of environmental conservation and community enhancement.
Proceeds from the event will help renovate the Beacon Harbor building, thereby bolstering the Quad Cities community, event organizers said.
