Live Music Series Returns to Historic Skinner Block Courtyard

The Chillin’ in the Courtyard live music series will return to Moline’s historic Skinner Block Courtyard in 2025, offering free Saturday evening concerts and a special Sunday event.

The series kicks off this Saturday, May 10, with the Dani Lynn Howe Band performing from 5-8 p.m. The Skinner Block Courtyard is located at 1520 River Drive, between River House Bar & Grill and Dead Poet’s Espresso. Hospitality will be provided by neighboring businesses Bad Boyz Pizza, Little Brown Box Deli, Bent River Brewing Company, and Pour Bros. Craft Taproom.

Chillin’ in the Courtyard is a free, all-ages event with food and beverages available for purchase. Gates open at 4 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for seating on the Courtyard Patio, sponsored by Simply Amish Interiors.

The Historic Skinner Block Courtyard will also host a Great Race Watch Party on Sunday, June 22, from noon-6 p.m. This free event will feature food and beverages for purchase and live music from 3 ON THE TREE beginning at 3 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

The Great Race, an annual classic car road rally, will make an overnight stop in downtown Moline Centre also on June 22. More than 100 antique and classic cars are expected to arrive from Iowa via the Interstate 74 Bridge at about 4:30 p.m. and will pass by the Skinner Block Courtyard en route to John Deere Commons. The watch party offers a front-row view of the cars’ arrival, along with food, beverages, and live music. Local classic cars will also be on display.

3 ON THE TREE, a Quad Cities band, performs rockabilly, Elvis, Chuck Berry, and other classic hits.
