Lift Women’s Foundation empowering women in business

The Lift Women’s Foundation continues to help women in business by providing loans and connecting women to capital.

The nonprofit organization, based in Rock Island, sponsors micro-loans, investing capital to inspire the financial independence of women. It connects women entrepreneurs to capital that they would not qualify for through traditional business lending programs in partnership with IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union

The group announced this week that it has secured its 11th active loan with the first client to close on a microloan in 2024. Not only is it the group’s first of the current year, it is also the largest loan approved to date.

“The Lift Women’s Foundation has been able to turn my dreams into reality by helping me expand my photography/web design business into a storefront and allowing me to grow within my community,” Emily Freymann, owner/CEO of Freymann Photography & Design, said in a foundation news release.

Her photography business will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, at  653 15th Ave., East Moline. There will be an open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with raffles from more than 10 local businesses.

Lift Women’s Foundation is an independent, philanthropic, not for profit organization. It was established by Royal Neighbors of America in 2002, as the Royal Neighbors Foundation to provide financial education and support causes that empower women and their families.

The organization continues to accept applications from women entrepreneurs and hopes to help even more women. For more information on applications, go here.
