Did you know IowaWORKS has a local Business Services Team that includes partners and professionals who can support your business recruitment needs?
Our professional staff in the Mississippi Valley area can work with you and tailor a plan to meet your workforce needs.
Victor Ochoa is a business engagement consultant who offers more than 15 years of experience in staffing and human resources. He supports area employers with a wide range of services available through Iowa Workforce Development. These include: recruitment assistance, the Iowaworks.gov job bank, unemployment insurance support, tax credits, and labor market information. He works closely with businesses to address workforce challenges and provide solutions that support their success throughout the business cycle.

As a certified work ethic trainer and Offender Workforce Development Specialist (OWDS), Victor also helps job seekers – including justice-involved individuals – develop foundational workplace skills, such as attitude, attendance, appearance, ambition, accountability, acceptance, and appreciation through the “Bring Your A-Game to Work” curriculum.
Sunday Saunders leads businesses to new levels of success through useful resources. She is a business services consultant with more than 20 years of business and employee relations, customer service, and recruitment experience. In her role, she advises businesses on workforce development strategies, connecting them with qualified talent through recruitment services. She provides access to training programs to improve employee retention and bridges companies to job seekers through the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act Title 1 program.

Sunday works with businesses to identify job openings, alternative work activities, and training initiatives. She assists with the hiring process, including interviewing job seekers. She coordinates job shadow and work experiences, internships, on-the-job training and work-based learning, that allow those job seekers to secure skills needed to prepare them for a career.
Another partner on our team is Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation. The staff can assist you with finding qualified workers and support services from the vocational rehabilitation system and its partners. They provide Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) consultations, accommodations, disability awareness, sensitivity training and tax incentives opportunities.
Our team can also connect you to Registered Apprenticeship (RA) programs. The industry-driven and high-quality pathway combines on-the-job learning with related training instruction that results in an earned nationally recognized credential upon completion. RA programs reduce turnover costs and increase employee retention.
We also connect you to Adult and Continued Learning, Veteran and SkillBridge, Adult Dislocated Workers, Immigrant and Refugee, and Department of the Blind programs.
