LeClaire hosts Fall Market Days, vendor fair this weekend

Downtown LeClaire is inviting visitors to a fun-filled weekend as it hosts its two-day Fall Market Days & Chalk the Walk and the annual LeClaire Fall Fest on Sunday. 

Treat yourself or get a jumpstart on your holiday shopping downtown on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 7-8. Then on Sunday, the River Valley Optimists’ Club will host the LeClaire Fall Fest from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Mississippi River levee.   

Throughout the weekend, downtown merchants will offer specials, discounts, sidewalk and deck sales, and open houses. 

Among the scheduled activities are: 

  • Cody Road October Craft Show, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. both days, LeClaire Civic Center.
  • Blacksmith demonstrations, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.
  • Emily Found It’s first sidewalk sale, free fall-flavored sparkling water. 
  • Grasshoppers Gatherings open house with treats, noon-4 p.m. both days.  
  • Green Tree Brewery Bakes & Brews with Kneaded Kindness, noon-4 p.m. Sunday.
  • Olathea Creek Vineyard & Winery Wine + Jewelry pop-up event, 2-5 p.m. Saturday. 
  • What BBQ & Bar, food on the levee, Sunday. 
  • Wide River Winery Tasting Room, free samples of Harvest Hurrah (must be age 21 or older to sample and purchase wine).

Visitors also can enjoy Chalk the Walk activities at Kitsch-n Sink, Razzleberries, Bamboo Baby Boutique, Bela, Grasshoppers’ Gatherings, The Potter’s House, Cody Road Coffee, Cody Road Trading Post, Of heaven and earth, Aunt Hatties, The Shameless Chocoholic, Rising Tide Boutique, LeClaire Information Center and What BBQ & Bar.    

Over the weekend, there also will be opportunities to hear live music, including: 

  • Green Tree Brewery, 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Sean Kistler. (Opening at 11 a.m. for Quad Cities Topless Brewery Cruise for Charity.) 
  • Olathea Creek Vineyard & Winery, 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Ariel Reynolds.

LeClaire Fall Fest

On Sunday, the River Valley Optimists’ Club will hold a fun family event featuring art, crafts and a variety of homemade food items. In addition, 4-H members will be on hand selling a truckload of pumpkins.  

More than 70 other vendors will offer kettle corn and unique craft and gift items such as garden art, honey/honeycomb, jewelry, boutique clothing and art. There also will be a free “kids-only” area, too.
