There’s a party on tap in LeClaire to celebrate the Mississippi River community being spotlighted on a new Iowa PBS show called Road Trip Iowa.

Road Trip Iowa LeClaire Cody Road

The episode airs Wednesday, May 1. It  highlights Iowa’s portion of the Great River Road. That includes LeClaire’s downtown Cody Road District. Several LeClaire businesses are featured during eight minutes of the 30-minute show.

To mark the debut and watch the episode, LeClaire is hosting a Premier Party at Mississippi River Distilling Co. (MRDC) from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday. The show airs promptly at 6:30 p.m. So arrive early to grab a cocktail, have a hot dog and enjoy the show.

The party’s featured cocktail created by Nathan, the distillery’s mixologist, is named “Cody Road Trip.” It is made with bourbon, cranberry and lemon. Plus, grab a delicious dog or two from the Hot Dog Guy! There will be a cash bar and hot dogs available for purchase.

In addition to Cody Road District in LeClaire, other Iowa towns and attractions that are highlighted include: Horseshoe Bluff at Mines of Spain, Bellevue State Park Butterfly Sanctuary, Sabula – Iowa’s only island city, The Sawmill Museum in Clinton, Clinton Area Showboat Theatre, and the Figge Art Museum in Davenport.

LeClaire previously was featured on an episode of “John McGivern’s Main Streets” television show.

The Road Trip Iowa Premiere Party, hosted by MRDC and Cody Road Cocktail House, is free and open to the public.
