Join River Action looking for a QC scavenger hunt

River Action is looking for explorers to take on its 5th annual Explore and Seek Scavenger Hunt beginning Saturday, June 1, and running all month long.

The event aims to get families and explorers of all ages outdoors and connected with nature.

Once called “Ride and Seek,” this year’s hunt allows participants to bike, hike, walk or drive to more than 20 parks, Wild Places and conservation areas to seek the answers to clues listed on a map (provided with each registration).

New this year, participants can register individually, as a family, and add on “Junior Explorers.” A single Explorer Kit comes with a tie-dye drawstring bag, field notebook, pen, compass carabiner, and map for $30.

For $40, families receive a drawstring bag, a fanny pack, two notebooks, pens, and compass carabiners, and one map. If you want to forgo the ‘swag’ and register to participate, you can get a single map for just $20.

Those who answer the most clues are eligible to win exciting prizes, including a YETI Tundra 105 Hard Cool, a PlayStation 5, or passes to The Fun Station in Eldridge and Elevate Trampoline Park in Davenport or Milan.

Registered children, age 12 and under, who visit a minimum of five locations and correctly answer the clues receive a “Junior Explorer” certificate and Wild Places cap. For more information, contest details or to register, visit
