IowaWORKS to host employer workshop, job fairs in Quad Cities 

Employers and human resources professionals are invited to learn more about recent changes to the Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment program at a workshop next week. 

The Employers’ Council of Iowa (ECI) is partnering with IowaWORKS to host the workshop from 10-11:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 6, at Bettendorf City Hall Council Chambers, 1609 State St., Bettendorf. Employers can register at https://lnkd.in/eUuKDHHR. It also will be available through Zoom. 

Matt Auliff, Iowa Workforce Development’s (WID) reemployment services operations manager, will give an overview on the recent changes and answer employers’ questions. The event will focus on guidelines for job seekers re-entering the workforce and skills assessments now available.

ECI are advisory groups of employers, located in each IWD region, who help IWD meet the needs of business and provide expert information on issues impacting the business community. 

The local Iowa council serves Scott, Clinton, Muscatine and Jackson counties. 

In addition, IowaWORKS has scheduled more hiring events next week at its offices at 1801A E. Kimberly Road, Davenport. The career fair schedule and participating employers are: 

  • Tuesday, April 5, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.: FedEx Ground, hiring for courier and warehouse package handler.
  • Thursday, April 7, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.: Kraft, hiring for production team members, engineers and maintenance technicians.
  • Thursday, April 7, 2-4 p.m.: Team Staffing Solutions, hiring for process operators, maintenance tech, assembly/machine operators, janitor, local CDL A driver.
