Iowa Public Radio honored for excellence in online newsletters

Iowa Public Radio IPR

Iowa Public Radio has been awarded an Online Journalism Award for excellence in newsletters from the Online News Association.

IPR produces five online newsletters tailored to the specific needs and interests of a variety of audiences, according to a news release, with options for daily news, gardening, music, politics and cultural content. The newsletters earned IPR praise for exceptional quality and an audience-focused approach.

The Online Journalism Awards recognize projects for their storytelling, delivery and impact, and they are the only comprehensive set of prizes honoring excellence in digital journalism around the world, the release states.

Iowa Public Radio was one of a handful of nonprofit, local journalism organizations to win an award, competing against national, international and major media, according to the release.
