Iowa American Water to begin construction on new location

Iowa American Water and Bush Construction will come together at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, to commemorate the groundbreaking of Iowa American Water’s new 41,000-square-foot facility.

With plans to relocate from 5201 Grand Ave., Davenport, to a state-of-the-art facility on 30 acres at 3409 Research Parkway, Davenport, this new location will advance current operations while supporting future growth for the company.

The new facility features designated spaces for both office and warehouse material handling. Management, administrative staff, and service staff will all be able to collaborate under one roof in multi-functional spaces, the utility said. The modern facility also includes a multi-use training room, expanded parking, and a convenient wash bay within the truck bay area. The design has been carefully thought out, keeping future expansion in mind.

“Bush is honored to have the opportunity to strengthen our existing relationship and work alongside the team at Iowa American Water on this project,” said A.J. Loss, president/CEO of Bush Construction. “Collaborating together to develop a building solution that fits their needs and schedule has truly been rewarding.”

Earth-moving will begin this week. The office space is expected to be complete in summer 2023, with the truck bay completion set for late summer 2023.
