“MercyOne Genesis continues to invest and grow primary health care access within Davenport. The (health plaza) also features convenient care, pediatrics, lab and imaging services to help meet our patients’ needs. This location boasts 18 top-notch providers,” said Mr. Dexter, during a brief Tuesday, March 4, ribbon-cutting ceremony for internal medicine’s new home. That ceremony, which attracted about 50 people from the medical and business communities, also included a tour of the first-floor office space that will soon house the internal medicine staff. That space – once home to physical therapy offices and exam rooms – has been undergoing a massive renovation for the past several months. In fact, during the tour on Tuesday, renovation work was still in progress on parts of the first floor space. Workers were busy finishing up projects in Exam Room 110 and other rooms as visitors toured the space.Even though the work is not complete, many of those visitors said they were impressed by what they saw.“It’s beautiful. It has a really nice flow. … I’m not a doctor, but all the doctors I talked to today said they love the place,” Peter Benson, a member of the MercyOne Genesis Board of Directors, said during Tuesday’s tour. Some of the features of internal medicine’s new home will include:
5,500 square feet of space.
12 exam rooms.
Two procedure rooms.
Four offices.
A medical team that includes Dr. Gaurav Ahuja, Dr. Vinay Satti, Dr. Michelle Azar, Dr. Susan Pereira and their team. “We created our first Iowa Internal Medicine practice in January 2000 with Dr. Ahuja and Dr. Satti and recently added Dr. Azar and Dr. Pereira," Mr. Dexter said.
