To help build the Quad Cities region’s blood supply, ImpactLife is putting out a call for donors and sweetening the offer with a voucher for an electronic gift card or a donation to support the area’s food bank.
With the incentive, ImpactLife Donor Centers hope to fill up their donor schedules. In a news release, the 50-year-old organization said its centers in the Quad Cities (Davenport and Moline), and in Muscatine and Dubuque, Iowa, and Galesburg, Illinois, will be open this week. In fact, many donors are scheduled to give blood and platelets on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
ImpactLife is looking to improve appointment schedules at centers and mobile blood drives across the region to recover donations lost due to the holidays.
Typically, the holiday season is a challenging time for the blood supply due to a decrease in mobile blood drives and busy schedules leading to a decrease in appointments for donation. But, ImpactLife said, patient care continues and the demand for lifesaving blood components remains constant.

ImpactLife is providing all donors with a voucher to redeem for their choice of an electronic gift card; points to use in the ImpactLife Donor Rewards Store; or an equivalent value donation to support food banks within ImpactLife’s service region. The promotions run Sunday, Jan. 12. The voucher’s value depends on the donation type and location.

Give at a donor center:
- Whole blood – $40 gift card or $40 donation or 3,000 points for rewards store.
- Double reds – $45 gift card or $45 donation or 3,500 points.
- Three+ time platelets donors – $45 gift card or $45 donation or 3,500 points.
- First- & second-time platelets donors – $70 gift card OR $70 donation OR 6,000 points
Give at a mobile blood drive:
- Whole blood – $30 gift card or $30 donation or 2,000 points.
- Double reds – $45 gift card or $45 donation or 3,500 points.
- Three+ time platelets donors – $45 gift card or $45 donation or 3,500 points.
- First- & second-time platelets donors – $70 gift card or $70 donation or 6,000 points.
