There are few companies in any industry in the Quad Cities that have had as many acquisitions over the past couple of years as IMEG.
Business and community leaders in the Quad Cities have been quietly trying to keep track of IMEG’s explosive growth, but the scale and frequency of IMEG’s acquisitions have prevented a full appreciation of the company’s growth until now.
Management consultant firm Morrissey Goodale named IMEG as recipient of the 2023 Most Prolific and Proficient Acquirer Award.
The award was presented at an awards ceremony in March in Miami for the inaugural Excellence in Acquisitive Growth Awards. The awards were designed to recognize and honor the best buyers in the architectural engineering and environmental industry.
Headquartered in Rock Island, IMEG began its merger and acquisition activity in 2015 and has added firms every year since, according to a news release. It completed eight acquisitions in 2022, and to date, the company has 75 offices and 2,100 team members nationwide. All acquired firms maintain their leadership and share IMEG’s commitment to high-quality, client-centric design delivered by local engineers.
This impressive growth is not only good for IMEG, but also for the long-term future of the Quad Cities region and economy.
QCAIR’s important awards
A new Quad Cities favorite is the Quad Cities Alliance for Immigrants and Refugee annual Citizenship Honors Dinner, which was held on April 15 at The Center in Davenport.
Attracting and retaining workers is the biggest challenge for most regions in the country. The United States’ population, while growing, is still struggling to meet the employment needs of businesses and industries across the country. The next best option is to attract more immigrants and refugees.
According to an article from the Brookings Institute, newly released Census Bureau estimates show that in the last year, the nation’s population grew modestly, but hardly returned to pre-pandemic growth levels. The U.S. population grew by a tepid 0.38% between July 2021 and July 2022 — slightly above the historic low of 0.16% during the first full year of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although the number of births rose, the number of deaths was still high as the pandemic continued.
The major contributor to the nation’s small population growth uptick was an increase in net immigration from abroad — a sharp contrast from the previous year’s extremely low immigration level.
This annual awards dinner showcases the importance of these immigrant and refugee groups and the stories behind their moves to the U.S.
The QCAIR is a 501c3 nonprofit organization founded in 2012 to work with immigrants and refugees and their families to ensure that they are provided with the best services possible. It ensures that the community is aware of the talents, skills, and abilities these new residents bring to the country.
We applaud the QCAIR and this important awards dinner.
