IIIF Foundation for Fair Contracting announces 2024 awards

The Indiana, Illinois, Iowa Foundation for Fair Contracting (III FFC) will present its annual construction awards for projects in the Quad Cities on Wednesday, Feb. 19. 

The III FFC is a nonprofit construction industry foundation. It will host its Annual Construction Industry & Public Official Appreciation Dinner at the Isle Casino & Hotel Bettendorf. 

The awards will honor a public body, project and contractor of the year. The awards recognize honorees’ dedication, excellence, and commitment in upholding the highest standards in public construction and infrastructure development in the Quad Cities. 

This year’s honorees are:

  • Public Body of the Year: City of Moline. The city was selected in recognition of its outstanding commitment to advancing infrastructure and community development through collaboration with top-tier responsible contractors.
  • Project of the Year: Rebuild Downtown Rock Island Redevelopment. The award  recognizes these members of the development team: City of Rock Island, project owner; Valley Construction, general contractor; V&K, project engineer; Streamline Architects, project architect; and The Rock Island Downtown Alliance, project advocate. The team is being honored for demonstrating innovation and collaboration in revitalizing downtown Rock Island to benefit businesses and residents alike. 
  • Contractor of the Year: Central Excavating. The company is being recognized for its outstanding work in the construction industry, commitment to hiring and training a skilled workforce, and adherence to fair contracting standards.

“We are proud to recognize these exceptional partners who demonstrate integrity, quality, and commitment to the public good,” Andrew Waeyaert, III FFC’s regional manager, said in a news release. “Their contributions ensure that taxpayer dollars are invested wisely while delivering high-quality, lasting infrastructure improvements in the Quad Cities.”

The organization’s annual appreciation dinner celebrates achievements in public works construction while strengthening collaboration between industry leaders, contractors, and public officials.
