Thirteen IHMVCU members have been awarded a share of $31,500 through the 2025 IHMVCU Cash for Class Scholarship program, the Moline-based credit union announced.
In partnership with the Dream Education Foundation (DEF), IHMVCU has provided scholarships to local undergraduate, graduate and vocational/technical students who excel academically and contribute to their communities.
IHMVCU celebrated the winners on social media throughout May, with a special surprise for the top four recipients. One winner received the ultimate surprise when IHMVCU’s marketing team partnered with Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky, to deliver the news of her $10,000 prize. Surprise videos are available on YouTube.
Since 1999, IHMVCU has invested nearly $400,000 in scholarships, helping more than 300 students pursue their educational goals.
“At IHMVCU, we believe education is one of the most powerful tools for building a better future, not just for individuals, but for our entire community,” President & CEO Brian Laufenberg said in a news release. “Supporting students through scholarships is just one way we help our young members achieve their dreams. Giving back has always been at the heart of who we are as a credit union, and we’re proud to help create opportunities that uplift and empower the communities we serve.”
