IHMVCU’s marketing earns national recognition

Quad Cities-based IHMVCU recently was honored with five Diamond Awards for its marketing and business development efforts.

Recognized as the most prestigious credit union marketing competition, the Diamond Awards – presented by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Marketing & Business Development Council – honor creative excellence and outstanding results in the credit union industry.

This is the third year in a row the annual competition has honored IHMVCU, which brought home a record-breaking five awards in four categories.

Headquartered in Moline, IHMVCU earned the Category’s Best distinction in the One-Time Event category for its execution of member communications surrounding its System Upgrade. “We knew our biggest challenge would be having all locations closed for three days, so it was critical to keep members informed, help them prepare and offer steps to minimize the impact,” Amy Orr, vice president – marketing, said in a news release. “We understood the upgrade would impact members very differently, so it was important to make sure our communications were specific to the different needs of our members.”

IHMVCU also brought home four other Diamond Awards in the categories of Multi-faceted with its MemBEER Advantage promotion, Digital Advertising with an ad from its award-winning Pathfinder Magazine, Annual Reports for its 2020 IHMVCU Annual Report, and a One-Time Event award for its System Upgrade internal messaging.

The CUNA council is a national network of more than 1,000 credit union marketing and business development professionals across the country. The competition was fierce, with nearly 1,200 entries submitted across 35 categories – ranging from advertising to community events and beyond.

“Diamond Awards are the gold standard of achievement in credit union marketing and business development,” said Marella Nardotti, awards chair and the marketing vice president for NextMark Credit Union. “Inventiveness in effectively achieving and exceeding objectives is what these awards honor.”

With 140,000 members and $1.8B in assets, IHMVCU is the largest credit union in the Quad Cities region and the sixth-largest in Illinois. For more information, visit IHMVCU.org.
