Henry County rural loan fund helps Geneseo business grow

Loan

GENESEO, Illinois – Simosky Tax & Accounting will move to a new location at 213 First St. in Geneseo with the help of a $23,750 loan from the Henry County Rural Revolving Loan Fund (RRLF) Program.

With increased office space, owner Paula Simosky will be able to hire two additional employees to help assist customers during the busy tax season, according to an RRLF news release.

The Henry County Board, which approved the loan through the RRLF, and Central Bank Illinois are teaming up to facilitate the purchase and a loan for the building.

Simosky Tax & Accounting has been serving the community since 2003. Its current Geneseo offices are at 137 S. State St.

The county’s rural loan fund has made 91 loans totaling $5.2 million which helped retain 1,172 jobs in Henry County.

The RRLF monies are available to any new or existing business within Henry County.

The revolving loan fund uses capital provided by the Henry County Economic Development Administration and Henry County for low interest loans to help qualified businesses locate, expand or remain in the county. These loans are supplemental, providing a portion of the total needed for a given project, according to literature from RRLF.

A condition of the financing is that a minimum of one job must be created or retained for every $10,000 of RLF funds borrowed.
