Help Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is Back May 11

Volunteers help unload food out of the back of a vehicle. CREDIT UNITED WAY OF THE QUAD CITIES.

United Way Quad Cities, the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC),  River Bend Food Bank, and local labor partners are combining forces for the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday, May 11, to gather non-perishable food donations for Quad Cities families and children.

To participate, Quad Cities residents are asked to leave non-perishable food items next to their mailbox before their mail is delivered Saturday, May 11. The top-requested, non-perishable food items are cereal, pasta, pasta sauce or spaghetti sauce, rice, canned fruits and vegetables, canned meals (such as soups, chili and pasta), 100% juice, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, canned protein (tuna, chicken and turkey), beans (canned or dry), as well as healthy, low-sodium or low-sugar variations.

People can also help volunteer by signing up through the United Way at this link.

Frozen, homemade, home-canned items or items in glass containers will not be accepted.
