Hand in Hand will host a Volunteer Appreciation Event from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 23, at its 3860 Middle Road, Bettendorf, center. The event will celebrate current and prospective volunteers and recognize their dedication to Hand in Hand’s programs.

Current volunteers will receive a free, limited-edition “Birthday” T-shirt designed by Raygun, and a complimentary dirty soda or energy drink from The Fizz Lab, served on-site. Volunteers are asked to RSVP here.

Ashley Hicks, Hand in Hand philanthropy director, emphasized the importance of volunteers. “Hand in Hand proudly celebrates the incredible volunteers who embody the words of Colin Powell: ‘Volunteering is the ultimate expression of community spirit.’ These dedicated individuals have given their time, talents and support to our participants, staff and families, making a lasting difference in our community. We are deeply grateful for their commitment and are taking this opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you.”

Community members interested in learning more about Hand in Hand are encouraged to attend, purchase a drink from The Fizz Lab and explore volunteer opportunities supporting children and adults of all abilities. Attendees can also connect with fellow volunteers, meet staff and learn about upcoming opportunities to make a difference.
