The Arc of the Quad Cities Area – in partnership with the Quad Cities Disabilities Awareness Coalition – is celebrating Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy with a food drive from now until Tuesday, May 20.
Quad Citians are invited to donate non-perishable food items at locations across the region.
Participating sites include: all the Quad Cities and surrounding area Hy-Vee stores; area libraries; GiGi’s Playhouse; Rock Island and Davenport’s parks and recreation locations; Hand in Hand; Individual Advocacy Group; Empowering Abilities; QC Flex; and The Arc. Look for food donation boxes at the locations.
The food drive’s goal is to support individuals with disabilities to give back to their community while also addressing food insecurity. In honor of Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy, the food drive addresses food insecurity and showcases the impact of inclusive volunteering.
