Farm economy struggles

We were disappointed, but not surprised that Moline-based Deere & Co. recently announced more layoffs due to a weak farm economy and tariffs.

The cuts include 115 workers at Harvester Works in East Moline, 52 workers at Seeding and Cylinder in Moline and 71 workers at the Foundry in Waterloo, Iowa.
