DeWitt to host Autumn Fest

DEWITT, Iowa – DeWitt is set to kick off the 35th anniversary of Autumn Fest on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16-17, at Lincoln Park.

The event will feature live music from local bands, food trucks, craft vendors, Sidewalk Chalk Contest and more.

The festivities will begin on Friday night at dusk in Lincoln Park with “Family Movie in the Park” featuring “Encanto.”

Saturday’s events are set for 4-8 p.m. Attractions include a beverage garden, hayrack rides, face painting, balloon animals, and children’s activities including: a dunk tank, inflatable obstacle course and a pedal pull. 

Also on Saturday, the Sidewalk Chalk Contest will take place on 10th Street. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place. 

Take a stroll down Sixth Avenue and view a display of classic, vintage, and muscle cars, a variety of delicious food trucks, sales from local retailers, as well as craft and business vendors. 

Also, in an effort to promote tourism, DeWitt Chamber officials are offering a “Stay and Play” prize package during the weekend. Five winners will receive a two-night stay for four people at the AmericInn Hotel in DeWitt, good for Friday and Saturday. The prize package also will include $200 in DeWitt Chamber Bucks to be used as spending money, redeemable at over 100 of the city’s local participating businesses, including most retailers and restaurants. This stay and play package is perfect for families as well as adults, a chamber news release said.
