Davenport Mayor Mike Matson will give the annual State of the City address on Monday, June 10, at the Rhythm City Casino, 7077 Elmore Ave., Davenport.

The doors will open at 11:15 a.m. and the program will start at noon.

In past years, the State of the City address has often been used to highlight the city’s accomplishments from the past year and look forward to upcoming projects. It can also be used to address big issues facing the city.

For instance, last year’s State of the City address came a few days after the partial collapse of the apartment building at 324 Main St., known as The Davenport.

The State of the City address also is often used to review various road, sewer, housing and other projects in the city.
