The Davenport Community School District (DCSD) recently announced that DICK’S House of Sport has selected the Davenport North High women’s basketball team as the recipient of a $3,000 Sports Matter Grant.

A special presentation took place during the Thursday, Jan. 30, North girls’ basketball game, where players and coaches joined DICK’S House of Sport staff to celebrate the achievement.

The $3,000 grant will be used to purchase new practice equipment and apparel.

This initiative aligns with DICK’S House of Sport’s mission to give back to the communities it serves and to support programs that provide opportunities for youth athletes.

Through their partnership with the Davenport North women’s basketball team, DICK’S House of Sport aims to make a lasting difference in the lives of student-athletes and help foster a brighter future. The grant is part of the continued dedication of DICK’S House of Sport – with a location in Davenport– to supporting the Davenport Community School District and investing in the next generation of student-athletes.
