Cookies & Dreams is partnering with the National Alliance on Mental Illness to “smash the stigma” surrounding mental health while raising awareness and support in honor of World Mental Health Day, which is observed today, Oct. 10.
Through Saturday, Oct. 14, Cookies & Dreams – with a location in Bettendorf – will offer a limited-edition “Hulk Smash” cookie in stores and online. It will donate 20% of its sale proceeds to NAMI to support the nonprofit’s work in advocating for individuals and families affected by mental illness, according to a news release from Cookies & Dreams.
“At Cookies & Dreams, we believe in the power of community and coming together for important causes,” said Stephanie Sellers, Cookies & Dreams founder and co-owner.
“Mental health is a topic that deserves our attention and support. We chose the ‘Hulk Smash’ cookie because it symbolizes the incredible strength and resilience of those facing mental health challenges. We’re honored to partner with NAMI and contribute to their efforts,” she added.
“Hulk Smash” is a green velvet cookie filled with Nutella and packed with white and semi-sweet chocolate chips.
World Mental Health Day works to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world while mobilizing efforts in support of mental health, according to the World Health Organization’s website. According to the release, NAMI’s dedication to raising awareness, providing support and advocating for those affected by mental illness aligns with Cookies & Dreams’ commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
