MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine recently hosted its annual meeting, marking a significant milestone — 25 years of impact, collaboration, and community transformation.
During the celebration, area residents and organizations were honored for their work in the community with these awards:
- The Tom Hendricks Community Service Award was presented to Bags of Blessings, in partnership with Muscatine Charities, Inc. The award recognizes their outstanding contributions to addressing children’s food insecurity in the community.
- The Timeless Impact Award honored Bob and JoAnn Jensen and Jim Nepple for their enduring dedication and vision that has stood the test of time, creating a lasting legacy.
- Special grants: Attendees at the meeting also had the opportunity to vote on the recipient of a special grant. As a result, the Micaela’s Hope Endowment Fund and the Domestic Violence Shelter of MCSA Organization Fund each received a $2,500 award in recognition of the Community Foundation’s 25th anniversary. The foundation also recognized Gage and Geri Kent as well as Jim and Rebecca Howe for offering a matching grant at the event, which enabled two organizations to receive the funding.
“As the Community Foundation embarks on its next 25 years, we will continue to unfailingly support the inspired, future-focused charitable gifts from donors and organizations, transforming the landscape of today, and for our next generation,” the Community Foundation said.
