Meanwhile, more than 40 members of the local business and medical communities gathered in the hallway outside to officially welcome the clinic here.“Thank you for investing in our community. … There is tremendous opportunity to grow here,” said Jeff Reiter, Bettendorf assistant city administrator, during a Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the relatively new clinic. The University of Iowa Health Care Urgent Care Clinic is located at 865 Lincoln Road, Suite 400, in Bettendorf. These clinics will provide services that go beyond a typical walk-in clinic, including IV fluids, stitches and X-rays, leaders said. The university has another urgent care clinic at 2705 E. 53rd St., Davenport, which opened in January 2024.“Our goal is to provide more convenient access and continuity of care for our patients and employees who live in the Quad Cities area,” Dr. Douglas Van Daele, vice dean for clinical affairs at Carver College of Medicine, said in a recent news release on the opening of the QC urgent care clinics. “By increasing same-day care access, we’re showing our commitment to keeping health care local wherever we can.” The Bettendorf clinic has about 20 to 25 employees. It is currently serving about 30 to 35 patients a day, and hopes to eventually serve more than 80 people a day, said Kaitlin Carr, a supervisor at the Bettendorf clinic.“We really can address many illnesses and sicknesses right here,” she added. The new clinic also is serving the public by being open seven days a week. Hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the weekend. It can be reached at (563) 344-2440.
