LECLAIRE – The 40th annual Christmas in LeClaire celebration is set for Friday, Dec. 6, through Sunday, Dec. 8.
The three-day event will feature bake sales, a cookie sale, crafts, silent auction, Santas from around the world, fun run, music, selfie opportunities with the Buffalo Stampede, photos with Santa, great shopping, and much more.
Also, the third annual Light Up LeClaire Parade will take place at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. Participants get to light up their cars, trucks, golf carts, or anything they would like to for a chance to win awards. The parade will travel down Wisconsin Street from 15th Street to 3rd Street.
There will be free trolley rides during the event. Trolley stops will include:
- MindFire Communications, 126 S. Cody Road.
- Cody Mart, 1220 N. Cody Road.
- Mississippi Cottage Antiques, 606 N. Cody Road.
- Dwellings, 414 N. Cody Road.
- Fareway grocery store, 1301 Eagle Ridge Road.

Friday, Dec. 6
- 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Masonic Lodge – Cookie sale, lunch, and crafters.
- 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.: LeClaire Civic Center – Crafts, silent auction and baked goods.
- 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.: Grasshoppers Gatherings – Craft fair.
- 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: LeClaire Civic Center – Watch Master Carver Luke Travers create wooden shoes.
- 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Free admission at the Buffalo Bill Museum for children, which includes a Children’s Christmas Scavenger Hunt throughout the museum and a Children’s Coloring Contest.
- 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.: Santa’s Gift Shop (inside LeClaire Civic Center). Kids can use “Christmas in LeClaire Dollars” to shop for family and friends.
- 5-7 p.m.: Strolling Santas and Christmas characters throughout the downtown.
- 5-7 p.m. Ugly Christmas Sweater 5K packet pick up at the LeClaire Rec Center, 429 N. 3rd St.
- 5-7 p.m.: Various shops open late.
- 5-8 p.m. LeClaire Civic Center – Entertainment by balloon artist Jason Hamilton.
- 6 p.m.: Third Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony located on the south end of the Levee.
Saturday, Dec. 7
- 8-10 a.m.: Breakfast with Santa at Happy Joe’s. Sponsored by LeClaire Happy Joe’s & Blackhawk Bank & Trust. Cost: kids, $4.50; adults, $9.50.
- 9:30-10 a.m.: Reindeer Dash Kid’s ½ Mile Fun Run – ages 12 and under. Starts at LeClaire Civic Center parking lot.
- 10 a.m. to noon: Ugly Christmas Sweater 5k Run – line up in LeClaire Civic Center parking lot.
- 10 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m.: Strolling Santas and Christmas characters throughout the downtown.
- 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Masonic Lodge, 2nd Floor – Kid’s Craft Workshop.
- 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Watch as Master Carver Luke Travers creates wooden shoes at LeClaire Civic Center.

- Noon-4 p.m.: Santa’s Gift Shop (inside LeClaire Civic Center). Kids can use “Christmas in LeClaire Dollars” to shop.
