The Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce recently announced its first class in its Generation Next program.
Generation Next is a new QC Chamber initiative that brings together mid-career professionals to prepare them for careers as community leaders.
“The individuals selected for the first cohort possess a unique combination of skills and experiences that make them prime candidates to be future community leaders. These cohort members are already active in business, government and nonprofit organizations,” according to information from the QC Chamber.
The first members will meet once a month for four months and will attend workshops, panel discussions, networking opportunities and more. They are designed to prepare them for community service as board and committee members. Through these programs, they will gain expertise in community engagement, become more connected to the Quad Cities community and gain insight into how to run for elected office and be an informed voter.
