Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley’s (BBBSMV) 19th annual Putt A Round kicks off from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. tonight, Feb. 6, at Match Night when the agency brings together more than 250 Bigs, Littles and families.
Registration is closed for this unique annual event and major fundraiser for BBBSMV which transforms the Great Hall at the RiverCenter, 136 Third St., Davenport, into a creative massive mini golf course.
During Match Night, big and little matches and families will play the course and vote on their favorite holes in a variety of different categories including: most challenging, Littles Favorite, Big Favorite and most creative. Match Night also includes more than eight area team and organization Mascots.
The four-day annual event runs through Friday, Feb. 9. Area companies and organizations designed and constructed the 27 holes on this year’s course, which will be played by more than 1,500 participants over four days and multiple shifts.
Online registration for shifts is closed, but registrations will still be accepted onsite at the RiverCenter. Table Caddies also are still available for purchase online while supplies last.
BBBSMV is expected to raise more than $100,000 from the event to support its one-to-one mentoring programs in the area.
The eight shotgun start shifts include a round of mini golf, music, food from area restaurants, contest prizes, music and raffles. Beverages and other games also are available for purchase at the event.
The Highlight/Challenge list below reflects the industries/organizations that are expected to play during each shift in Putt A Round’s “challenge” format. Under it, industry teams go head-to-head for the lowest course score, with a traveling trophy and bragging rights on the line.
