
The 33rd annual Big Brothers Big Sisters Plant Sale is going on this weekend at the Northwest Bank Tower, 100 E. Kimberly Road, Davenport, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The fundraiser garners nearly $200,000 for one-to-one mentoring, according to a news release.
The Plant Sale is the organization’s oldest local fundraiser and it continues to be a critical part of its fundraising efforts, the release states. Big Brothers Big Sisters coordinates youth mentoring programs for vulnerable youth in our community.
The event’s major partnerships include co-presenting sponsors Mel Foster Company, Iowa American Water and Solutions Management Group (SMG). New sponsors C&W Trucking, Bettendorf, is donating flower transportation from a wholesale grower in Michigan to the QC, saving the organization nearly $10,000, the release states.
