Better Health Foundation grant deadline due

Nonprofits in the Quad Cities region have until Friday, March 1, to apply for the Better Health Foundation’s spring grant cycle.

Applicants must submit a completed online Letter of Inquiry (LOI) for consideration of an Innovation Grant.

The Better Health Foundation grants are intended to help nonprofit organizations think differently and experiment with novel solutions to tackle our region’s most challenging public health issues. Innovation at all stages of development will be considered and might include: the creation of a new service or program, a new way of delivering services, a combination of “old ideas” to solve a current issue, or bringing services to a new group of people, especially those in under-resourced communities.

Award criteria and instructions on how to apply for a grant can be found at thebetterhealthfoundation.org.

The Better Health Foundation will award between $100,000 and $200,000 this cycle for programs and services aligned with the private foundation’s inaugural funding priorities: mental and behavioral health, risk reduction of obesity and diabetes, and maternal and child health.

Better Health Foundation is accepting requests from qualified 501(c)3 organizations in Cedar, Clinton, Louisa, Muscatine and Scott counties in Iowa, and Henry, Mercer, Rock Island and Whiteside counties in Illinois.

The foundation announced its first round of grants in January.
