Bettendorf Rotary accepting grant applications from nonprofits

The Rotary Club of Bettendorf now is accepting applications for grants up to $3,000 from qualified nonprofit organizations in the Quad Cities through Wednesday, Nov. 1.

The Bettendorf Rotary grants committee accepts applications once a year from nonprofit organizations that provide basic human services, serve youth or meet local community needs, according to a news release. Area nonprofits are encouraged to apply, including previous grantees.

“Even though we are a Bettendorf club, we actively consider requests from qualified organizations throughout the Quad-City community,” Carol Foster, chair of the grant committee, said in the release.

Grants are not awarded to groups for annual fundraising, organizational endowments, deficit financing, grants to individuals, scholarship funds, political groups or activities, Rotarians and their families, or for sectarian purposes.

To apply, organizations must complete the online application form on the Bettendorf Rotary website

The club generates funds for philanthropic purposes primarily through its Lobsterfest fundraising event.

Chartered on May 22, 1957, the Bettendorf Rotary Club meets at noon every Wednesday at the Tanglewood Pavilion, 4250 Middle Road, Bettendorf. For more information, visit bettendorfrotary.com.
