Bettendorf mayor’s State of City address set for Feb. 28

    Bettendorf Mayor Bob Gallagher will give the annual State of the City address on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the Waterfront Convention Center at 2021 State St., Bettendorf.

    Doors will open at 11 a.m. Opening remarks and lunch will start at 11:30 a.m., and the  mayor’s address will start at 12:15 p.m.

    This event is open to the community and is free to attend. A $20 lunch buffet is optional. To reserve a seat or a table for lunch, visit here. People attending the event can pay for lunch at the door with cash or credit card.

    During the State of the City address, Mr. Gallagher is expected to address the city’s five main goals:

    • Remain a financially sound city that provides quality city services.
    • Have orderly growth and quality development. 
    • Support riverfront/downtown development to create a destination for living, working, and entertainment. 
    • Grow current businesses and attract new businesses.
    •  Be a premier place to live in the Quad Cities.

    During previous State of the City events, the mayor addressed those goals and outlined success stories from last year and major projects that are in the works this year and coming years.
